Maryanne’s love affair with fashion started early in life, drawn by the allure and glamour of well-crafted couture.
She worked alongside the head designer of Coogi at the peak of its power – fostering her love of colour and developing her bold, expressive aesthetic. At the transformative RPM and Husk boutiques, Maryanne cultivated close relationships with local celebs and loyal customers, who were drawn to the intimate shopping experience as much as the beauty of the international labels.
After moving to Perth, she was driven to create her own hyper-personal, escapist shopping experience. Her focus would be on lingerie; comfortable everyday essentials, with thoughtful details that prompt a smile, through to exceptionally crafted boutique brands for next-level luxury. And in 2023, Rude to Stare was born, bringing the world’s ultimate intimates to Perth’s discerning shoppers.
